Homemade Almond Milk

It may sound complicated but, homemade almond milk is easier than you may think. Boxed milk is convenient and all but sadly it is filled with fillers, thickeners, and sugars and carrageenan. Homemade is a real treat and tastes so much better!

  • 1 cup of raw almonds + filtered water to cover them in a bowl
  • 3 cups of fresh filtered water
  • pinch of sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional)
  • 2 pitted dates or 1 tablespoon of honey/maple syrup (optional)

You will also need: A blender and a nut milk bag

Place raw almonds in a bowl and cover with water. Allow to soak overnight or at least 6-8 hours. Rinse well and add to a high speed blender with your 3 new cups of fresh filtered water. Add salt as well. Blend very well for 1 minute. Pour through your nut milk bag and squeeze out the milk. Add milk back to blender and now add your vanilla and dates if you are using them. Blend again for 1 minute. Store in a glass jar in the fridge for up to 4 days.
